Ford Mach-E Launch Site

Project: Mach-E launch site — configure, finance, and buy a vehicle online, worldwide
Role: Lead UX designer and delivery lead, web front-end
Method: Global bank integrations mapped into an adaptive design system
Outcome: Sub-5-second credit decisions; purchase flow cut from 10–12 to 7–8 minutes

Buying a new vehicle online in the time it takes to order lunch.

Designing for every bank in every market

Rather than build one flow and force each market to conform, we started with the banks. We mapped how credit and financing integrations worked across each launch region — what data they required, how they returned decisions, and where their processes diverged.

A design system built for banking variance. The findings shaped a design system that could adapt to different banking systems market by market, keeping the purchase experience consistent for customers while flexing to meet each creditor's requirements underneath.

Configuration that flows into purchase. Configuring a vehicle and buying one had historically been separate experiences. We designed the configurator to lever smoothly into the purchase flow, so the excitement of building your Mach-E carried directly into reserving or owning it — no restart, no re-entry.

From deposit to driveway

A five-minute path to a deposit. The reservation flow lets a customer place a deposit on a Mach-E in roughly five minutes end to end — dramatically faster than what came before.

A purchase measured in minutes, not sessions. The full purchase flow, including financing, averages seven to eight minutes per customer — down from ten to twelve minutes previously.

Sub-five-second credit decisions. New decisioning technology, integrated across every creditor attached to the system, returns a credit approval for a deposit or purchase in under five seconds — turning the most anxious moment of buying a car into the fastest one.

A handoff into ownership. Completing a purchase connects the customer directly to the Ford mobile app, where the ownership experience begins — making the website the front door to the relationship, not the end of a transaction.
